John P. Nealon
Senior Project Manager, Office of the Administrator

Jack Nealon serves as the senior project manager for two transformational information technology initiatives at the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The first initiative involves centralizing and consolidating LAN servers from 48 NASS locations to just two in order to streamline the administration of servers and desktops. The second transformational initiative involves migrating all survey processing at NASS to database-optimized, generalized, and modular survey applications, which will provide significant cost savings and data quality improvements.

Prior to his current assignment, Jack Nealon served as the Director of the Information Technology Division and Chief Information Officer for NASS from January 2001 to March 2010. In addition, Nealon worked in a variety of assignments throughout NASS, which included tours in the Research and Development Division, the North Carolina Field Office, the Census and Survey Division, and the Statistics Division.

Nealon was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He earned a Master's degree in Statistics from North Carolina State University. Prior to his graduate studies, Nealon received undergraduate degrees in Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Scranton. Nealon lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, Trista, and their son, Jack.
