Agricultural Statistics Board Chairman Mark Harris Retires - Board Executive Director Hubert Hamer is Acting Chair

USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) announces the retirement of Mark Harris, Chairperson of USDA’s Agricultural Statistics Board and Director of the Methodology Division, after a 36 year career with NASS. Harris’s retirement is effective March 31, 2016. Per departmental regulation, the Executive Director of the Agricultural Statistics Board, Hubert Hamer, will serve as acting chair until a permanent chair is named.

The Agricultural Statistics Board (ASB) prepares and issues USDA’s official national and state forecasts and estimates relating to crop production, stocks of agricultural commodities, livestock and livestock products, dairy and dairy products, poultry and poultry products, agricultural prices, economic information, agricultural wage rates, chemical usage, and other such subjects.
