FLORIDA: The forecast of avocados for certified shipments is increased
50,000 bushels to 1,000,000 bushels. With three months remaining in the
season, the previous forecast of 950,000 bushels has already been exceeded.
Weekly shipments have been heavy in December with good demand reported.
    If realized, this will be 19 percent more than shipped in the previous
season and the highest amount since the
1991-92 season. No damage has been reported from the cold weather in
December or early January.

CALIFORNIA: Estimated total shipments to January 2 are 332,000 bushel
equivalents, up from the previous season to the same date. Total shipments
for the season are estimated at 8,308,000 bushel equivalents, 21 percent
more than the previous season and the most since the 1992-93 season.
