FLORIDA: The forecast of avocados for certified shipments remains at
950,000 bushels. This is 13 percent more than the 843,000 bushels shipped
last season. It is also above the previous season and the most since the
1991-92 season.

    Estimated shipments through November total 880,300 bushels, slightly
more than the 860,400 bushels shipped to the same date in the 1997-98
season. That season the total shipments reached 938,000 bushels.
    Following a survey in October to update tree and acre numbers, bearing
acres is now estimated at 6,000, down slightly from earlier estimates.

CALIFORNIA: Estimated total shipments for the first month of the 2000-01
marketing season are estimated at 109,000 bushel equiva lents. This is more
than the 70,000 bushel equivalents shipped last season to the same date.
Total shipments for the season are at 8,308,000 bushels equivalents, 21
percent more than the previous season.

    FLORIDA: Estimated certified shipments of avocados, 2000-01 season,
