FLORIDA: The forecast of avocados for certified shipments is continued at
900,000 bushels. This is the same as was forecast last month but down
50,000 bushels from the initial forecast in August 2001. If realized, this
will be about ten percent less than was shipped last season but more than
the previous two.

    Estimated shipments through December total 860,900 bushels, almost
100,000 less than last season when over a million total bushels were
shipped. Weekly shipments are declining as the season which ends in March
is drawing to a close.

CALIFORNIA: Shipments for the first two months of the 2001-02 marketing
season total an estimated 440,000 bushel equivalents as reported by the
California Avocado Commission. This is slightly more than last season to
the same time but a slightly smaller total crop is forecast.

    FLORIDA: Estimated certified shipments of avocados, 2001-02 season,
