FLORIDA: The forecast of avocados for certified shipments is continued at 950,000 bushels. This is five percent less than the 1,005,000 bushels shipped last season. Recent years record production was 1,111,000 bushels in the 1991-92 season.
  Estimated shipments through August total 423,800 bushels, slightly less than the 459,100 bushels to the same date last season. Bearing acres is estimated at 5,900, slightly less than last season.

CALIFORNIA: Shipments through September 4 total 7,858,000 bushel equivalents, about 24 percent more than last season to the same date. With two months remaining in the season, 8,308,000 bushel equivalents are expected to be shipped for the season.
