DISTRICT COMMENTS July 15, 2007 DISTRICT 1 - NORTHWEST Lightly scattered showers are welcome, but not enough to keep out of the fields. DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST No comments available. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL Finally received some rain. Finally some noticeable improvement; soil moisture, pasture and hayfield conditions are better. Forages are beginning to rebound. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL Peanuts pegging, cotton flowering. Light insect pressure. Getting rain, got hay to cut; permanent and summer annuals. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST Tobacco harvest to begin today. We received 1.16" of rainfall. Soybean plantings continue. Hay in short supply. Cattle herd reduced because of hay shortage and poor pasture growth. DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 9 - SOUTHEAST No comments available.
