Most folks have an abundance of hay and have completed the last cutting of the year for most. DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL Corn harvest continuing. DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We need additional rainfall. It's dry. The temperatures have cooled a bit but we need water. Harvesting continues. Rye planting ahead of showers occurred in hopes of getting a stand. Need rain! DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL Just a bit of rain Friday night, barely enough to soften the ground for peanuts. 38 degrees this morning with highs in the 70's this week, plant maturation is done. Growers encouraged to dig and defoliate all remaining fields this week. Peanut and cotton yield is very good with dry land cotton running over 800 pounds in many dry fields, over 1200 in irrigated fields. Peanuts yielding from 3,000 to 5,500. Soybeans could have used one more rain. Not enough harvested to get a yield estimate. Some grain has been sown for pastures. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL Lifting peanuts off soil before picking. Picking cotton and peanuts and digging peanuts. Planting small grains. Irrigated cotton and peanut yields surprising. Need good harvest weather. Lower temperatures next week will halt maturity of late peanuts and cotton. Some will dig early. This week has been good for harvesting crops. We have received very little rain fall during this period! DISTRICT 9 - SOUTHEAST Rain on the past two weekends have improved some crops especially peanuts.
