DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST No comments available. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL It took a week to cure but rolled ryegrass hay. Wheat is in mostly good shape. Applying lime, fertilizer, and herbicide to pastures and hayfields. Some warm season forage planting activity. DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We have begun to dry and we're hoping to catch up on our planting. The weather has begun to warm and we are eagerly waiting to see what happens next. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL Grazing is low because we're between ryegrass and warm-season grass. The nights have stayed too cool to get good Bahia and Bermuda grass going. Some corn is being replanted where wet soils prevented good stands. Some fields are just now dry enough to fertilize and plant. Cereal leaf beetle larva are plentiful in wheat and most growers will spray for them when fungicide is applied. Temperatures are warming and with no disease pressure, I imagine wheat spraying is about over. Cotton planting will commence soon. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST No comments available. DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL Growers planting tobacco fast as they can to meet the insurance deadline if possible. Some late planted corn and a little replant. Side dressing corn with nitrogen. Cutting first cutting of hay. Some field work for planting preparation. Warm weather has been nice. This past week was good for drying out of many low fields that water had standing on. Growers have been very busy with field activities. The night temperature increased promoting better growing conditions for our crops. DISTRICT 9 - SOUTHEAST Large rain fall amounts in past weeks have forced us to replant most of the corn.
