DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL Additional rain slowed field work this week DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST Too much rain to dry last hay cutting. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL Wet conditions slowed harvest to a standstill. DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We have been very wet over the past 7 days. We received .02 inches of rainfall on Oct. 24, 1.83 on Oct. 27 and .02 on Oct. 28. Field work has slowed to a crawl as the drying out process continues. Rains hampered harvest and fall planting operations. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL We're having a time getting harvested this year. After drying from last weekend's rain, we got a few days for harvest before another cloudy day Friday and another inch of rain Saturday night. With only about 4 good hours to harvest on a good day, and not many of those, we are way behind. November weather is very unpredictable and the time change shortens harvest time. Growers are beyond thinking about a late harvest and just hoping to get this crop out of the field at all. We're beginning to rot some soybeans and cotton quality has taken a beating. Peanut yields and grades are great but a large part of the crop has been inverted for 10 days, suffering through two rain events and still running high moisture. We just can't seem to catch more than 3 days in a row of sunny weather. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST Peanut vines have been too moist to harvest. DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL Wet week has delayed cotton harvest and peanut digging and harvest. Cotton yields going about 2+ bales per acre. Peanuts avg. fair to good grades with probable yields of 2 tons to 3500 or so. No hay cutting. Need some good sunny and warm harvest weather. This past week has been wet, with very poor harvest condition for growers. We need some good dry weather for our growers to get back on tract with harvesting fall row crop. The cool weather reduce yield on vegetables and diseases was bad on some growers. DISTRICT 9 - SOUTHEAST No comments available.
