Lots of sun this week. Received 1 inch of rain last week DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL Sunny weather allowed a number of producers to cut hay fields for the final time this year DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST No comments available. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We've received .31 of an inch of rainfall on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Many of our producers are awaiting the drying out process to run its course so that winter planting can occur. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL Finally getting good harvest weather and things are drying out some. Peanuts are high-moisture but yields are good. Dry land cotton a little better than expected but we were hurt by dry weather much worse than surrounding counties. Defoliating materials are very slow to work in cooler temperatures. A lot of cotton still to be picked. Very little wheat has been planted although interest is up with climbing market prices. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST Moist vines prevented peanut harvest early in the week. Finally some great harvesting weather. DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL This has been a good week for harvesting of peanuts and cotton. These crops have been delayed in harvesting due wet weather. They will finish harvesting peanut in the next 5-6 days. DISTRICT 9 - SOUTHEAST No comments available.
