DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST No comments available. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL DRY. Dry conditions remain and are slowing the planting of winter grains and grazing; grazing is short. DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We been dry over the past 7 days and we have seen a decline in temperatures as there has been more of a seasonal stabilizing of the readings. Dry. Great for harvesting but need rains to help with winter grazing. Dry conditions prevail. Summer pastures are declining due to lack of soil moisture and cooler temps. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL Very dry, no rain this month. Some dry land cotton and soybean surprises (better than expected) but some pretty bad dry land peanut and cotton yields also. Armyworms spotted in some winter grain pasture just emerging. Majority of harvest proceeding rapidly due to perfect weather, should be 90% finished by end of the month. Dry conditions. Armyworms still in pastures and on small grains. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST Dry. Light sprinkles on Tuesday October 12. Missed the showers. Too much hard lock even in irrigated cotton. Peanut maturity will slow again this weekend. Too many growers got in a hurry and picked peanuts too soon and grades suffered. Now they are waiting for the peanuts to tell them when to dig. DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL Dry weather has been excellent for cotton and peanut harvest. Some peanuts being dug a little early due to stress and weak pegs. Peanut and cotton yields have been better than expected. Some dryland new varieties of peanuts and cotton have not held up as well as others. Wrapping up peanut digging and picking and in full swing on cotton harvest. This past week has been very good for crop harvesting. However we need some rain on our small grains.
