DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL Routine care of livestock and poultry this week, rain needed badly. DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST No comments available. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL Finally received about 2 inches of rain, but conditions remain very dry in the county. Drought conditions continue in our county; pastures and hay production will be very short in production for the fall season. DRY,DRY. Another hot dry week hurt pastures and prevented any winter grazing or small grains planting. Pastures are not capable of providing much grazing and hay feeding is common. DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We have been rather dry over the past 7 days. The temperatures have been mild during the day and cool at night. Dry. Dry weather conditions are delaying fall planting and lowering harvest quality. Extreme drought conditions continued again this week. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL Small grain/ryegrass planting has ceased, VERY DRY - no rain since Sept. 27. Cotton and peanuts keep surprising us with decent yields and the Sept. rain is even making fair soybeans from poor soybeans. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST Dry. Had the first worm in winter grazing call first of the week. Missed every chance of a shower, not that there were many chances. Two more weeks of dry weather will get us almost to the finish line for cotton and peanut harvest. Dry weather has helped with cotton harvest, some peanuts cannot be dug due to soil is to hard. Forecasted rains may help with this. Starting to get some winter forages ready for planting. DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL Dry but great for harvest. Most cotton has been defoliated. All but a few fields of peanuts have been dug and most harvested. Cotton harvest in full swing. Yields on all crops average to above average and quality good. Extreme drought conditions are beginning to interfere with the end of peanut harvest--ground too hard to run the inverters. DISTRICT 9 - SOUTHEAST No comments available.
