DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL First snow of the year, but it did not have an effect on crops, but heavy freeze did. Most winter wheat planted - routine care of livestock and poultry this week, unseasonably warm temperatures DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST No comments available. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We have received .24 of an inch of rainfall over the past 7 days. the temperatures have cooled off during the mornings and evenings. Continues to be dry. Harvesting of cotton, soybeans and peanuts continues. Waiting on rain to finish winter grazing planting. Gearing up for small grain planting. Dry weather prevails. Winter grazing hurt due to dry conditions. Grazing conditions getting worse. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST Pecan harvest made significant progress with good harvest weather all week Harvest is going well. Dry on small grains We could be finished picking cotton next week, depending upon whether we receive any rainfall or not. The frost last weekend stuck some leaves, but that's to be expected. Growers can't find wheat varieties they want, so many will forgo planting. Those acres will probably be planted with cotton, if they can get the cotton varieties they need.
