DISTRICT 2 - NORTH CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 3 - NORTHEAST No comments available. DISTRICT 4 - WEST CENTRAL No comments available. DISTRICT 5 - CENTRAL We are still very dry despite receiving .30 of an inch of rainfall. Wheat planting has started; harvest of cotton and soybeans continues; need rain. Much of the county received beneficial rains of between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch this week. DISTRICT 6 - EAST CENTRAL Winding down a decent crop year. Wheat seed very hard to come and that will affect acres planted. DISTRICT 7 - SOUTHWEST Pecan yields are highly variable. Row crop harvest is coming along fine and not far from being finished up. Pecan crop this year is going to be off. Drought hurt nut fill and the meat did not fill out in the kernel. DISTRICT 8 - SOUTH CENTRAL Got about one half inch of rain. Enough to settle the dust but need more. Just about finished harvesting crops. Small grains look good and rainfall benefitted germination and growth of them. Pecan crop looks weak. Mowing cotton stalks and feeding cattle hay and some poultry growers got small chicks. Things looking up for agriculture in our area. Good commodity prices helps alot too.
