An estimated 34.3 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, up slightly from the previous week and up 4 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 29.1 million, up slightly from both the previous week and the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 82 percent.
