An estimated 34.0 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down 3 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 27.3 million, down 4 percent from the previous week and down 1 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 81 percent.
