An estimated 36.0 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down 1 percent from the previous week but up 3 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 29.3 million, down slightly from the previous week and the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 81 percent.
