An estimated 32.0 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down 3 percent from the previous week and down 4 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 27.2 million, down 1 percent from the previous week and down 4 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 83 percent.
