An estimated 30.9 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down 4 percent from the previous week and down 8 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 27.1 million, down slightly from the previous week and down 5 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 82 percent.
