An estimated 31.2 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, up 7 percent from the previous week, but down 3 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 26.4 million, down 1 percent from the previous week and down 1 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 84 percent.
