An estimated 29.2 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, up slightly from the previous week, but down 2 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 22.7 million, down 13 percent from the previous week and down 8 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 83 percent.
