An estimated 31.1 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down 1 percent from the previous week and down 2 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 26.2 million, down slightly from the previous week and down 1 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 83 percent.
