An estimated 31.5 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, down 2 percent from the previous week, but up 2 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 27.0 million, up 2 percent from the previous week and up 2 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Average hatchability for chicks hatched in Georgia was 83 percent.
