Kleweno E-mail: nass-ga@nass.usda.gov Director Website: http://www.nass.usda.gov/ga 706-546-2236 BROILERS PLACED IN GEORGIA UP 7 PERCENT BROILER EGGS SET UP 10 PERCENT Placement of broiler chicks in Georgia during the week ending November 6, 2010 was 25.3 million, down 6 percent from the previous week, but up 7 percent from the comparable week last year, according to the USDA, NASS, Georgia Field Office. An estimated 31.8 million broiler type eggs were set by Georgia hatcheries, up 1 percent from the previous week and up 10 percent from the comparable week a year earlier. Broiler-type chicks hatched during the week totaled 25.5 million, down 5 percent from the previous week, but up 6 percent from the comparable week a year earlier.
