Producers averaged 3.1 days suitable for fieldwork. Row crop planting was the primary activity where fields could be worked. Topsoil moisture was rated 1 percent very short, 10 percent short, 65 percent adequate, and 24 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture was rated 9 percent short, 75 percent adequate, and 16 percent surplus. Field Crop Report: Thirty-six percent of the wheat has turned, compared to 75 percent last year and 58 percent for the 5-year average. Wheat condition was rated 14 percent very poor, 21 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 25 percent good, and 8 percent excellent. Insect infestation reports indicate 61 percent of the wheat showed no infestation, 26 percent showed light infestation, 10 percent showed moderate infestation, and 3 percent showed severe infestation. Reporter comments indicated armyworms continued as the most predominant pest. Disease infestation reports estimate 34 percent with no presence, 30 percent with light presence, 25 percent with moderate presence, and 11 percent with severe presence. Ninety-four percent of the corn has emerged, one point behind last year but the same as the 5-year average. Corn condition was rated 6 percent poor, 25 percent fair, 61 percent good, and 8 percent excellent. Fifty-seven percent of the soybeans have been planted, compared to 75 percent last year and 71 percent for the 5-year average. Thirty-three percent is emerged, compared to 49 percent for both last year and the 5-year average. Soybean condition was rated 4 percent poor, 25 percent fair, 67 percent good, and 4 percent excellent. Thirty-five percent of the sorghum has been planted, compared to 47 percent for last year and 54 percent for the 5-year average. Fifteen percent has emerged, compared to 25 percent last year and 31 percent for the 5-year average. Fifty-five percent of the first cutting alfalfa has been harvested, compared to 88 percent for last year and 85 percent for the 5-year average. Three percent of the second cutting alfalfa has been harvested, compared to 2 percent last year and 1 percent for the 5-year average. Fourteen percent of the sunflowers have been planted, compared to 37 percent last year and 36 percent for the 5-year average. Forty-five percent of the cotton has been planted, compared to 49 percent last year and 60 percent for the 5-year average. Cotton condition was rated 10 percent fair, 85 percent good, and 5 percent excellent. Feed Supplies Report: Range and pasture conditions were rated 2 percent very poor, 9 percent poor, 29 percent fair, 45 percent good, and 15 percent excellent. Feed grain supplies were rated 3 percent very short, 14 percent short, 81 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. Hay and forage supplies were rated 8 percent very short, 26 percent short, 65 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Stock water supplies were rated 4 percent short, 77 percent adequate, and 19 percent surplus.
