Row crop planting and wheat harvesting were the primary activities. Topsoil moisture was rated 1 percent very short, 16 percent short, 74 percent adequate, and 9 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture was rated 9 percent short, 80 percent adequate, and 11 percent surplus. Field Crop Report: Seventy-five percent of the wheat has turned, compared to 93 percent last year and 85 percent for the 5-year average. Nine percent of the wheat is ripe, compared to 52 percent last year and 28 percent for the 5-year average. One percent has been harvested, compared to 13 percent last year and 5 percent for the 5-year average. Wheat condition was rated 13 percent very poor, 22 percent poor, 30 percent fair, 25 percent good, and 10 percent excellent. Insect infestation reports indicate 58 percent of the wheat showed no infestation, 29 percent showed light infestation, 10 percent showed moderate infestation, and 3 percent showed severe infestation. Disease infestation reports estimate 29 percent with no presence, 28 percent with light presence, 27 percent with moderate presence, and 16 percent with severe presence. One hundred percent of the corn has emerged, two points ahead of both last year and the 5-year average. Corn condition was rated 4 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 66 percent good, and 11 percent excellent. Seventy-six percent of the soybeans have been planted, compared to 85 percent last year and 80 percent for the 5-year average. Fifty-two percent is emerged, compared to 70 percent last year and 66 percent for the 5-year average. Soybean condition was rated 2 percent poor, 30 percent fair, 62 percent good, and 6 percent excellent. Sixty-six percent of the sorghum has been planted, compared to 68 percent for last year and 70 percent for the 5-year average. Thirty- four percent has emerged, compared to 42 percent last year and 47 percent for the 5-year average. Eighty-four percent of the first cutting alfalfa has been harvested, compared to 96 percent for last year and 95 percent for the 5-year average. Fifteen percent of the second cutting alfalfa has been harvested, compared to 10 percent last year and 9 percent for the 5-year average. Forty-three percent of the sunflowers have been planted, compared to 48 percent last year and 51 percent for the 5-year average. Sixty-nine percent of the cotton has been planted, the same as last year and 73 percent for the 5-year average. Cotton condition was rated 10 percent fair, 85 percent good, and 5 percent excellent. Feed Supplies Report: Range and pasture conditions were rated 2 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 23 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 17 percent excellent. Feed grain supplies were rated 2 percent very short, 11 percent short, 85 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. Hay and forage supplies were rated 5 percent very short, 20 percent short, 74 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Stock water supplies were rated 3 percent short, 82 percent adequate, and 15 percent surplus.
