Temperatures were average. Harvesting wheat and row crop planting remained the primary activities. Producers averaged 5.2 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture was rated 3 percent very short, 23 percent short, 61 percent adequate, and 13 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture was rated 2 percent very short, 17 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 11 percent surplus. Field Crop Report: Eighty-one percent of the wheat has been harvested, compared to 98 percent last year and 96 percent for the 5-year average. Fifty percent of the corn has silked, compared to 52 percent last year and 41 percent for the 5-year average. Four percent is in the dough stage, three points behind last year but the same as the 5-year average. Corn condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 50 percent good, and 16 percent excellent. Ninety-five percent of the soybeans have been planted, compared to 100 percent for both last year and the 5-year average. Ninety percent has emerged, compared to 98 percent last year and 97 percent for the 5-year average. Twenty- three percent are blooming, compared to 35 percent last year and 27 percent for the 5-year average. Four percent are setting pods, compared to 3 percent last year and 2 percent for the 5-year average. Soybean condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 30 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 12 percent excellent. Ninety-seven percent of the sorghum has been planted, compared to 99 percent last year and 98 percent for the 5-year average. Ninety-three percent has emerged, compared to 96 percent last year and 94 percent for the 5-year average. Sorghum condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 23 percent fair, 63 percent good, and 10 percent excellent. Sixty-six percent of the second cutting alfalfa has been harvested, compared to 85 percent last year and 81 percent for the 5-year average. Five percent of the third cutting alfalfa has been harvested, compared to 3 percent last year and 6 percent for the 5-year average. Ninety-seven percent of the sunflowers have been planted, compared to 95 percent last year and 96 percent for the 5-year average. Sixty-six percent have emerged, compared to 87 percent last year and 88 percent for the 5-year average. Sunflower condition was rated 44 percent fair, 44 percent good, and 12 percent excellent. Seventy-five percent of the cotton is squaring, compared to 28 percent last year and 21 percent for the 5-year average. Cotton condition was rated 5 percent poor, 20 percent fair, 60 percent good, and 15 percent excellent. Feed Supplies Report: Range and pasture conditions were rated 2 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 51 percent good, and 13 percent excellent. Feed grain supplies were rated 4 percent very short, 10 percent short, 85 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Hay and forage supplies were rated 5 percent very short, 17 percent short, 76 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. Stock water supplies were rated 1 percent very short, 6 percent short, 84 percent adequate, and 9 percent surplus.
