Producers averaged 1.7 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture is rated as 1 percent short, 54 percent adequate, and 45 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture is rated as 7 percent short, 64 percent adequate, and 29 percent surplus. Field Crop Report: Ninety percent of the wheat has jointed, compared to 75 percent last year, and 92 percent for the 5-year average. The wheat condition is rated as 3 percent very poor, 10 percent poor, 34 percent fair, 45 percent good, and 8 percent excellent. Wind damage to wheat has been rated as 79 percent with no damage, 16 percent with light damage, 4 percent with moderate damage, and 1 percent with severe damage. Freeze damage has been rated as 71 percent with no damage, 20 percent with light damage, 7 percent with moderate damage, and 2 percent with severe freeze damage. Insect infestation of the wheat crop is rated as 83 percent none, 16 percent light, and 1 percent moderate. Disease infestation is rated as 78 percent none, 19 percent light, and 3 percent moderate. Thirty-two percent of the Corn has been planted, compared to 39 percent last year and 57 percent for the 5-year average. Five percent of the corn has emerged, compared to 9 percent last year and 22 percent for the 5-year average. Feed Supplies Report: Range and pasture condition is rated as 2 percent very poor, 9 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 48 percent good, and 10 percent excellent. Feed grain supplies were rated as 5 percent short, 94 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Hay and forage supplies were rated as 8 percent short, 85 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus. Stock water supplies were estimated at 3 percent short, 75 percent adequate, and 22 percent surplus. Livestock activities include moving cattle to pasture and giving shots to cows.
