Soybean planting continued, but was slowed due to the rain. Rice producers continued to plant rice, with much of the planting taking place in shut down crawfish ponds. Winter wheat was progressing, with 100% headed. Sugarcane producers have fertilized their fields and began clearing weeds from rows. Warmer days and nights have aided in growing conditions for all crops. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers were selling beets, carrots and cabbage, and were working other crops. Crawfish producers were draining their ponds. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Pasture conditions continued to show improvement due to the rainfall and warm weather. Hay producers continued to cut hay, with percent of progress near the 5 year average. Cattle producers were busy working cattle and calves.
