Soybean weed control was applied. Planting of rice was almost completed as many producers applied herbicides and top-dressing. Sugarcane farmers were finishing fertilizing and laying by their crop. Sweet potato planting progressed credited to the improved soil moisture from recent rainfall. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers continued selling tomatoes and other summer vegetables. Crawfish producers continued to drain ponds. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Rains improved dry conditions in pastures. Cattlemen were cutting ryegrass hay. Cattle producers continued culling cows and marketing calves.
