The wet weather slowed the wheat harvest in some areas, but overall the harvest was ahead of the 5 year average. Corn conditions were generally good, with only 2% in poor condition. Some corn farmers were irrigating to supplement the rainfall received. Rice producers were finishing up herbicide applications, and also spraying insecticides to control water weevils. Cercospora was found in some rice fields. Most soybean fields have received plenty of rain, with some small soybeans struggling due to excess water. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers continued to harvest and sell produce. Vegetable conditions were generally good, with 66% of the vegetable crop in good or excellent condition. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Rainfall continued to improve pasture conditions, with 74% of pasture in good or excellent condition. The rainfall and pasture conditions contributed heavily to the livestock conditions, with 76% being reported as good or excellent.
