Field Crops Report Dry winds and hot, dry weather have dried soil moisture. The majority of soybeans have been planted. Rice fields reached the green ring stage, and producers applied fertilizer. Some rice producers scouted fields for diseases and applied fungicide as needed. Most sugarcane farmers finished laying by cane. Fruits, Vegetables, and Specialty Crops Report Producers harvested beans, bell peppers, squash, and tomatoes. Tomato fields were irrigated and sprayed for insects. Livestock, Pasture, and Range Report Cattlemen fertilized pastures. Livestock producers were concerned about condition of livestock and pastures due to lack of rain and decreased soil moisture.
