Rice producers were busy top dressing their fields and scouting for disease. Corn producers continued to irrigate due to the dry weather. Soybean producers were spraying herbicides. Sugarcane producers scouted for borers. The cotton crop was progressing well, with 56% at the squaring stage, well above the five year average of 38%. Fruits, Vegetables, and Specialty Crops Report Producers harvested tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, eggplants and bell peppers. Citrus producers scouted fields. Crawfish producers continued to drain ponds. Livestock, Pasture, and Range Report Cattle producers were clipping and fertilizing pastures and spraying for weeds. The dry weather slowed hay cutting.
