Field Crops Report Most early-planted rice was in early boot stage. Rice producers applied fungicides. Soybeans were needing more water to develop stronger roots in order to survive the summer. Soybean producers sprayed for weeds. Sugarcane growth was slowed due to dry weather conditions. Borer populations were low in sugarcane, and there were few reports of rust. Fruits, Vegetables, and Specialty Crops Report Producers harvested tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, and beans. Tomato fields were irrigated and sprayed for insects. Citrus producers scouted for insects. Livestock, Pasture, and Range Report Pastures conditions declined due to lack of moisture. Cattlemen cut hay.
