Heavy showers halted preparation for harvesting rice. Corn conditions improved slightly. Cotton pest populations began to slow down. Soybean condition declined due to heavy rainfall. Aerial blight and Cercospora were identified in soybean fields. Sugarcane producers prepared land and sprayed for borers. Planting of sweet potatoes was completed. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable production slowed due to heavy rains. Citrus producers continued scouting for insects and diseases. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report First cutting of hay was completed. Cattlemen were fertilizing pastures and marketing heavy calves. Pastures were responding well to heavy rainfall. .
