Sorghum and corn producers continued to harvest, but harvest progress was slightly below the 5-year average for both crops. Rice producers continued to harvest across the state. There were a few reports of later maturing rice varieties with low yields. Soybean producers remained busy with application of fungicides and insecticides. Sugarcane producers remained busy with planting and spraying for borers. Fruits, Vegetables, and Specialty Crops Report Vegetable producers harvested cucumbers and greens. Strawberry producers were busy putting plastic down in fields. Citrus producers scouted for insects. Crawfish producers began to flood ponds. Livestock, Pasture, and Range Report Cattlemen continued to harvest hay.
