Corn producers were busy harvesting, with 94 percent of the harvest complete. Rice harvest was 81 percent complete, only slightly behind the 5-year average of 85 percent. Sorghum harvest was well ahead of the 5-year average with 91 percent of the harvest complete. Sugarcane farmers were busy planting cane. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers were working fall crops. Citrus producers were spraying for insects. Crawfish producers continued to prepare ponds. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Cattlemen were busy cutting hay and preparing pastures for ryegrass planting. Livestock conditions were generally good, with 97 percent of livestock in fair or better condition.
