Rain was received throughout the state averaging 2.56 inches. Very little field work was completed due to wet conditions. Producers made very little progress with harvesting crops. Sugarcane planting was halted due to the rain. Some sugarcane producers reported lodging due to the excessive amount of rain and wind. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Citrus producers were scouting for insects. Vegetable producers continued working fall crops. Crawfish producers continued preparing ponds. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Second cutting of hay was slow due to rain. Livestock conditions continued to remain good as the state received cooler temperatures and much needed rain last week.
