Sugarcane harvest reached 28 percent, equal to the five year average. Reports indicated that tonnage was excellent and sugar recovery was good. Soybean harvest reached 96 percent complete, ahead of the five year average of 87 percent. Rice producers were busy harvesting the ratoon crop and preparing their fields for the next growing season. Cotton harvest reached 90 percent, ahead of the 5 year average. Some wheat producers were busy planting while others were preparing their fields for planting. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers were busy working fall crops. Citrus producers were picking satsumas. Crawfish producers were flooding their ponds. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Cattlemen were planting ryegrass. Livestock conditions were generally good, with 95 percent in fair or better condition.
