Many producers made excellent progress with crop harvest and other field work. Cotton harvesting continued, remaining ahead of the 5 year average. Soybean harvest was near completion. Sugarcane harvest made good progress with reports of good sugar recovery. Rice producers continued harvesting the ratoon crop with reports of good yields. Wheat planting made excellent progress with the dry conditions. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers were busy working and selling fall crops. Citrus producers continued picking satsumas. Crawfish producers were flooding their ponds and monitoring water quality. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Pastures conditions were beginning to decline due to the dry conditions. Cattlemen were planting ryegrass, but rain was needed.
