Sugarcane producers were harvesting, with reports of good yields and high sugar recovery. The dry weather also reduced mud problems for sugarcane producers. The rice ratoon harvest was nearing completion. Rice producers were preparing their fields for next spring. Soybean harvest was complete. Wheat producers were busy planting. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers were harvesting cabbage, mustard greens, collard greens and fall bell peppers. Strawberry producers were spraying to control disease problems. Citrus producers were selling fruit. Crawfish producers were checking their ponds for oxygen levels. The dry conditions were leading to high pumping costs for crawfish producers. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Cattlemen were fertilizing ryegrass. Pasture conditions were declining due to the lack of rainfall. Calf marketing was winding down.
