mi-crop-weather State Michigan Crop Weather Released November 28, 2011 Week Ending Date November 27, 2011 Issue MI-CW4811 Agricultural Summary Harvest Nearly Wrapped Up Five days were suitable for fieldwork during the week ended November 27, according to the USDA, NASS, Michigan Field Office. A few unseasonably warm days allowed farmers a chance to wrap up fall activities. "There are still a few fields or areas of fields left. With the rainfall Sunday, it may be a while before harvest can be totally wrapped up. It may even be until the ground freezes solid," a grower in the southeast region reported. Field Crops Report Field Crops Corn harvest was nearing completion. Some areas received rain and remained wet, preventing much progress on the remaining harvest. Winter wheat was fairly well established. Activities conducted were harvesting, hauling manure, disking and plowing, and storing equipment.
