Temperatures ranged from 5 to 6 degrees below normal in the Upper Peninsula and 6 to 9 degrees below normal in the Lower Peninsula. Precipitation ranged from 0.18 to 0.65 inches in the Upper Peninsula and 0.05 to 0.73 inches in the Lower Peninsula. Early in the week, effects of hurricane Sandy brought cold, wet, and windy conditions to much of the state. After rainy conditions ended, combines rolled again making good progress in corn harvest. Soybean harvest was wrapping up. Sugarbeet harvest continued and winter wheat planting was wrapping up.
