County Cash Rents Data Available

County level data on cash rental rates for agricultural land have been 
published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural 
Statistics Service (NASS).

The information, which is available online, includes average rental rates for 
irrigated and non-irrigated cropland, and pastureland during the 2012 
calendar year.

The information is based on data NASS gathered from over 200,000 agricultural 
producers nationwide during the 2012 county level cash rents survey. There 
were 5,604 producers sampled in Michigan during the 2012 county level cash 
rents survey.

In counties that are unpublished, NASS did not receive enough survey 
responses to publish a reliable estimate. In these instances, the rental 
values are combined with those of other unpublished counties and included in 
the "other county total" within the district.

The 2012 county cash rental rates data for cropland and pasture for Michigan 
and all other states are available online.
