We still have some late soybeans in the field and we have a ways to go on our peanuts. Wheat planting made good progress last week." --Don Respess, Quitman "Rain in the latter part of the week stopped all harvest for a few days. We need about another month of sunshine to finish harvest and get in a little field work in preparation for next year." --Jimbo Burkhalter, Tallahatchie "Cotton harvest continued for most of the week. Friday we got some rain that stopped us for a couple of days." --Stephen Winters, Grenada "Favorable weather provided good field conditions for harvest activities and fall tillage work." --Jerry Singleton, Leflore "Dry windy weather has provided a window to finish what little harvesting remains, to do needed field work, and begin planting winter wheat." --Strider M. McCrory, Sunflower "Soybean yields are moving to a record setting yield for the region much like most of the state. Shatter is becoming significant." --Randy Smith, Covington "Heavy dew mornings have assisted in establishing winter forages. More rains needed." --Amanda Walker, Lawrence Mississippi Weather Summary for Week Ending October 28, 2012 -------------------------------------------------------------- : : : : Air Temperature : Precipitation : :------------------------------------------- Division/Station :Max:Min:Avg:Norm:DFN:One : DFN :Rain:Four : : : : : : :Week: :Days:Weeks: -------------------------------------------------------------- 1.
