The rest should be done next week. Wheat planting started this week." --Stephen Winters, Grenada "We experienced shorter days and cooler temps. A few days of adequate conditions allowed wheat to be planted and field work to be done this past week. Frequent rains have made it a challenge to get field work in this fall. Rain Sunday night will most likely shut things down for several days." --Preston Aust, Humphreys "Harvest is wrapping up. Wheat and ryegrass planting is in full swing. Some are making a final hay harvest for the year." --Bill Burdine, Chickasaw "A much needed rain was received over the weekend. This will help cool season forages tremendously." --Shelby Bearden, Copiah "Cold front moving through the state brought us a small shower. We could use a good soaking rain. Rye grass pastures and deer plots are off to a slow start. Most producers believe they have enough hay stored. Some cattle producers are still putting up some hay. Our local weather man is predicting a cold winter." --Lee Taylor, Lamar "Warm weather is providing a good start to wheat and ryegrass. There are still some soybeans to be cut and the last of the warm-season hay is in the barn. We are anticipating more favorable conditions for winter forage." -- Charlie Bush, Simpson "Lots of wheat have been planted and fall tillage work has been finished. We still have some cotton to gin. " --Don Respess, Quitman "Most of the cropland has been worked. The wheat acreage has almost all been planted. We are in good shape for this time of year." --Lester Stephens, Washington "Cold front moving through today brought a small shower. We could use a good rain. Most of cotton and peanuts are harvested. Yields are expected to be generally good. Rye grass and food plots are off to a slow start. Cattle are in good shape and some calving taking place." --Lee Taylor, Forrest Mississippi Weather Summary for Week Ending November 11, 2012 -------------------------------------------------------------- : : : : Air Temperature : Precipitation : :------------------------------------------- Division/Station :Max:Min:Avg:Norm:DFN:One : DFN :Rain:Four : : : : : : :Week: :Days:Weeks: -------------------------------------------------------------- 1.
