Livestock Report

Livestock birthing for both cattle and sheep are behind last year and the five-year average. Fifty-four percent of pastures are open for grazing, compared to 73 percent last year and the five-year average of 76 percent. Recent snow storms have made things difficult in some areas for livestock owners. The extent of livestock losses due to snowstorms is unknown at this time. The demand for hay is increasing due to the late snowstorms.
