Weather Summary
Montana saw temperatures in the high 90s to low 100s with limited moisture
last week. Miles City had the high temperature at 103 degrees. Wisdom,
for the third week in a row, had the low temperature at 33 degrees. Choteau
received the greatest amount of precipitation during the week with 1.04
inches. Topsoil moisture is 40 percent adequate and surplus, down from
last week's 55 percent, but up from last year's 32 percent. Subsoil moisture
is 34 percent adequate and surplus, down from last week's 47 percent,
and from last year's 38 percent. The number of days suitable for field
work was 6.6, up from last years 6.3 days. The weather outlook for the
week of August 3rd through August 9th is calling for below normal temperatures
east of the divide and near normal temperatures west of the divide. Near
normal precipitation is expected across the state. Normal temperatures
for this period in Montana are highs in the upper 70s to the upper 80s,
and lows in the lower 40s to the lower 60s. |
