Weather Summary

Montana experienced near normal temperatures with moderate precipitation for the week ending October 25th. Highs were in the 60s to 70s, and lows were mostly in the upper teens and 20s. Albion had the high temperature of 76 degrees, and Wisdom had the low temperature of 17 degrees. Stanford had the greatest amount of weekly precipitation with 1.80 inches. Topsoil moisture is 57 percent adequate and surplus, compared to last week's 69 percent, below last year's 63 percent and 61 percent for the five-year average. Subsoil moisture is 43 percent adequate and surplus, slightly above last week's 42 percent, but below last year's 44 percent and above the five-year average of 35 percent. The number of days suitable for field work increased to 4.0 days from the previous week's 3.9 days.

For November 2nd to November 8th, temperatures for both east and west of the continental divide are forecasted to be below normal. Precipitation for both east and west of the continental divide is forecasted to be above normal. Temperatures for this period in the state are highs ranging from the upper 30's to 50, and lows in the 15-30 degree range.
